Citizen Participation Organization Dist. 6 Serving Aloha-Reedville-Cooper Mountain Thursday, April 3rd , 2014 7-9 P.M. TVF&R Community Room 20665 SW Blanton, Aloha
Changes are coming to Aloha's Citizen Participation Organization, which met Thursday, March 6. More than 30 community members attended.
The organization currently meets at Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue’s community room at 20665 S.W. Blanton St. in Aloha. Organization Chair Constance Kosuda said the current meeting spot isn't safely accessible for those getting to the meetings by bus, bike or on foot.
Portions of Blanton Street leading up to the community room are dark and lack sidewalks, so the organization wants to move its meetings to a location that's easily accessible to all.
Anyone with location suggestions should contact Kosuda at email@example.com or CPO Program Coordinator Dan Schauer at firstname.lastname@example.org">email@example.com.
Aloha senior center
The organization's leaders are forming a subcommittee to establish a senior center for the community. Kosuda said this would fill a void in Aloha, and the center could include a food pantry and a faith component.
"(We want to) have a nice, safe place where people can get together in their golden years," she said.
Anyone interested in sitting on the subcommittee should email Kosuda.
Kosuda announced the resignation of former CPO co-chair Damarise Davis. Davis has left the organization because she moved out of Aloha, Kosuda said.
